Missing Blink 182
It’s been a while since the punk rock group had parted ways and decided to call it quits. No more will we be able to witness their chaotic antics. No more wacky videos. No more anything. No more Blink 182.
The band had been inspiration to the youth of our generation. They made us laugh and at the same time be able to make us aware of several issues like domestic violence (Stay Together For The Kids) and suicide (Adam’s Song) among others.
Indeed they had been essential in defining and redefining who we are today.
The band had a long history but got pushed into the mainstream scene after the release of their album Enema Of The State back in 1999. Who would be able to forget the video What’s My Age Again where the band ran around wearing, well, nothing at all.
From there on, the band was able to make one hit after another. But their journey wouldn’t be an easy one. They had experimented with other bands until they finally called it quits and went their separate ways.
Travis Barker (the drummer) went on and made a reality show and got himself involved in different scandals in Hollywood. Tom DeLonge (the band’s vocalist/guitarist) went ahead and made another band called Angels And Airwaves (whose sound is quite different from what I was expecting). Thank god for Mark Hoppus (Blink’s vocalist/bassist) who created a band called +44 and was able to capture the band’s old sound.
But we all know however that there will be no other band like Blink 182.
I guess a band like Blink wasn’t meant to last. Too bad. I really liked their songs. My favorite in particular would be Always and I Miss You. All The Small Things wasn’t bad either.
I have no idea why the band broke up. I do know that it had something to do with Box Car Racer. However I’d sure love to see this band re-unite once more. I’d seen other bands do it, why not them? After all these years, the band still has a good following and no one had seem to have forgotten their names amidst all the new bands springing out here and there.
I’d sure love to see them play again in this lifetime.

godamn, i love that band. so depressing that they broke up…i’m listening to them right now. +44 kicks ass though but it’s not the same

blink is the best,they broke up in 05,the worst year ever.i think thier best song is the rock show.but i also love chesire cat,theier first,even if barker wasnt the drummer
