It’s Radiohead… Pay Up!!!
Some of you may have heard that Radiohead released it’s new album through the internet. That’s right, no more CDs this time around. I guess it’s their way of accepting that the Digital Age has indeed arrived for the recording industry.
Fans could now download the new album called “In Rainbows” and be able to choose how much they’re gonna pay for it. So it doesn’t matter if you pay a hundred bucks or a dime. You get the music you want on a price you’re comfortable with.
But latest studies show that most fans didn’t even pay. Cheapskates.
You just downloaded Radiohead’s music. They deserve some respect. And I applaud their effort in experimenting with different ways on how to keep up with technology. I know similar bands had done the same thing and I give them my kudos.
I’m a cheapskate as well. And I like getting stuff for free. But I do have my limit. If I get to choose how much I’m going to pay for good music by a band such as Radiohead I would throw in my share. The band still has to make a living, you know.
Maybe in the future more bands would try and experiment some more. In an age where nobody uses CD’s anymore, it’s best that they make some alternatives.

I really like the way Radiohead plays.. I loved their new cd! Have you seen when they covered The Smiths? The band sang The Headmaster Ritual in a webcast. Here is the video: weshow.com/us/p/23339/radiohead_the_headmaster_ritual_live
They are great aren’t they?
Agreed. Radiohead is just one of those bands that you couldn’t get enough of.
For me, I think this is a nice way for Radiohead to put their music out there since artist dont really earn that much from record sales. Based on what Evanescence said on a certain interview, artist only earn 30% from the total record sales. Artist only makes money from merchandises and their tours and concerts. So for me, this decision of Radiohead to give their album away for a little or no money at all is a way of saying: “Ok we gave you our music, now get your butt off out there and see us play that song live so we can make money so that we can give you more music.” I hope you guys gets what I mean.
We heard you loud and clear RagingHormones. I guess that’s another way of looking at it. Kinda makes me wonder now… haha…
And another way I see it. It’s a way for Radiohead to say to record companies: “Fuck you, we wont go with your money-hugging ways anymore! We wont make you more richer while we do all the hardwork!”
